2025 Scholarship Award Program

Objective
The purpose of the scholarship scheme is to assist underprivileged (low income and first generation) sons & daughters of Ubulu-Uku to continue their educational pursuits in any federal/state University in Nigeria.
First generation means families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree.


Scholarship Amount
A maximum of two hundred thousand Naira (N200,000.00) will be awarded every year until completion of study* (A limit of four years with exception of student in a program that is beyond four years but not to exceed 5 years of study)


Award Start Date
The recipients will be awarded in Fall of 2025 and thereafter as long the student(s) is in a good academic status.

Eligibility
v Open to all sons and daughters of Ubulu-Uku
v Parents must be low income with no formal education (High school or less)
v Must have completed secondary school
v Must study in Nigeria

v Gained admission to a State or Federal university and currently in year 1
Two-page 1000 word essay detailing financial need or support


Criteria for selection
v Proof of financial assistance/need
v Proof of Ubulu-Uku indigene
v Copy of letter of admission
v Letter of acceptance
v Two-page typed essay detailing financial need or support
v Proof of parent's low income
v Proof of parent's non-formal education
v Three letters of recommendation from teachers/Community Leaders/ Church or Local Association Leader
v Two recent passport photographs
v All documents must be received by July 31, 2025

Entry Submission

Please submit the following documents on or before July 31, 2025.
v Proof of financial assistance/need
v Proof of Ubulu-Uku indigene
v Copy of letter of admission
v Letter of acceptance
v Two-page typed essay (not less than 1000 words) detailing financial need or
support
v Proof of parent's low income
v Proof of parent's non-formal education
v Three letters of recommendation from teachers/Community leaders/Church or Local Association Leader
v Two recent passport photographs
v All documents must be received by July 31, 2025


Submission cut-off Date
1. All entry applications MUST be received on or before July 31, 2025
2. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.
 


Recipient Notification
The successful recipients will be notified by September 1, 2025. An acknowledgement correspondence from awardee(s) must be received before award is disbursed.
