A Message From Mr. John Odiaka
Akaekpuchionwa Anene

My name is John Odiaka Akaekpuchionwa Anene, Jr. aka “Unbeatable.” I am from Onije Village, the eight of ten children of Mr. & Mrs. John Onwochei aka “Eze Ayakata” & Isabella Nneamaka Anene. I attended both primary and secondary school in Ubulu-Uku, CMS and St. Anthony’s College, respectively. Upon graduation from St. Anthony’s, I worked briefly with the Federal Ministry of Establishment, Ikoyi, Lagos before leaving for North America in 1981.

I graduated from Wiley College, Marshall, Texas and Florida International University, Miami, Florida with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Hospitality & Tourism in 1985 &1989, respectively. I also did a post graduate work at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia.

I am a result oriented individual with over 20 years of teaching, training, assessment, and management experience. I have held different professional positions including senior level managerial positions, college professor, consultant and also an entrepreneur. I owned and operated Tropical Supermarket, Inc, Dayton, Ohio. I am the owner and operator of DeJohn Music Production, Professional Disc Jockey (DJ), specializing in all music for all occasions: highlife, Juju, Fuji, Soca, Reggae, Soukouss, Zouk, Hip Hop, etc.

I am one of the co-founders and architect of Ubulu-Uku USA, Inc., (UUU). I strongly believe that “collectively” we can make Ubulu-Uku great. One of my passions is to see Ubulu-Uku sons and daughters sit and deliberate on how to develop and lend our resources for the future of our town, that is the reason why I devoted and committed my time and resources for the welfare of Ubulu-Uku USA. I served as the first Interim General Secretary and first elected General Secretary until July 28, 2006. Since the conception of Ubulu-Uku USA (UUU), I have been very active in disseminating information and propagating the goals of the association and served in different committees especially in planning and execution of all the conventions but one. As part of my commitment & dedication, I met several times with the late Obi Edward Ofulue II to brief and update him of the UUU’s existence and goals. I also met with the principals of the
three public secondary schools and documented their needs. The project at Anglican Grammar School was a result of these meetings.

I am also the President and co-founder of Nigeria United of Dayton and the Miami Valley, Ohio, a 501C (3) with the objective to foster unity among Nigerians and to propagate the positive rich cultures of Nigeria.

I am married to my lovely queen, Kate Awele Nee Utomi from Ibusa. We are blessed with twin boys and a girl, Nnaemeka, Nnamdi and Nneamaka. My hobbies include music, travelling, cooking, sport, reading and talking politics.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our supporters for all these years. May the Almighty Father continue to bless you and your families.

Thank you and welcome to Ubulu Kingdom.

Yours truly,

John O. Anene, Jr.

Welcome Message From The Assistant Secretary
Ubulu-Uku, USA, Inc.
Patience Obiageli (Ojeah) Amagoh RN, BSN

Thank you for visiting our site and I hope this will not be the last time. My name is Patience Oby Ojeah-Amagoh from Idumu-Osume quarters. I am a registered Nurse with a BSN and currently working on my graduate studies in women’s health/mid-wife role at Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia. I currently reside in Richmond, Virginia with my three wonderful children. They have been a source of inspiration to me. I am truly thankful to them for their support. Also, my family though not in the USA has been a constant source of support not just to me but to UUU. They have really made my role in this association easier. My passion for Ubulu-Uku started back in Nigeria. I was not born or raised in Ubulu-Uku but every opportunity I have to be a part of that town is one that I have never turned down. My parents were responsible for this passion. I grew up watching my parents be the presidents of men and women Ubulu-Uku development union for four consecutive terms. As we finished high school and moved away from home,

they always encouraged us to seek out other Ubulu-Uku people and stay connected. This association gave me the opportunity to do just that. Since its conception, I have only missed one meeting which was the very first meeting held in Dallas, TX. The reason being I was not aware of the meeting before hand. Coming to the meetings and conventions has made it possible for me to meet many people that I would otherwise not know anything about, some of which are family members. Not only do I look forward to coming to this conventions/meeting for this reason, my children now look forward to coming too. Ubulu-Uku belongs to us and is our responsibility to take care of it. I believe that what cannot be accomplished individually, collectively we stand a chance. For this reason, I urge all sons and daughters of Ubulu-Uku in the USA to join this association to claim and develop what is rightfully ours. There is no such thing as a perfect organization and this association is no exception. The only way to begin to think of perfection is for it members to come together in love and make suggestion to improve

the association. Our people have a saying that “you are only affected by the association to which you belong”. You cannot change anything that you think is not right in this association unless you become a member. As you read this; if you are from Ubulu-Uku and not yet a member, I encourage you to make plans to attend the next meeting or convention and judge for yourself. At least you will have first hand information. I assure you that all it takes is being present in one meeting/convention and you will be a member for life. Look forward to seeing you in the next convention.

LONG LIVE UBULU-UKU, LONG LIVE THE USA, AND GOD BLESS US ALL.

OBY AMAGOH.
