This IP rating guarantees that the lens assembly is impervious to particulates and liquids, making it suitable for environments that require regular high-pressure washdowns, such as food and beverage processing plants.

  • Streamlined Mechanics: To withstand shock and vibration, many ruggedized lenses feature a streamlined design with fewer or no moving parts. The focus and iris are often fixed and locked in place, ensuring that the optical components do not shift even under extreme mechanical stress.

These design principles are enabling the use of machine vision in some of the most demanding applications, including aerospace, where lenses must survive the intense vibrations and temperature fluctuations of a rocket launch.
